: Says North’ll reject Tinubu in 2027
Former Governor of Jigawa State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Sule Lamiɗo, has launched a scathing attack on the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Tinubu of betraying Nigerians and pushing the country deeper into poverty and despair.

Speaking at the PDP expanded caucus meeting in Dutse, Jigawa State, Lamiɗo said the APC governments had inflicted “hardship, deceit, and betrayal” on Nigerians, leaving the nation more impoverished and divided.
“Since Buhari and now Tinubu, Nigerians are suffering. Poverty is everywhere, youths are jobless, and the economy is collapsing. They say they are fighting for Nigeria, but in reality, they only fight for themselves and their pockets”, he stated.
The former governor argued that no “right-thinking Northerner” would vote for President Tinubu in the 2027 elections, recalling how, as Lagos governor, Tinubu allegedly mistreated Northerners. He claimed Tinubu’s 2023 victory was secured through heavy financial influence rather than genuine support.
“We warned people not to entrust him. They refused to listen and are now paying the consequences of their actions. It is unfortunate for any Northerner to still support Tinubu’s re-election bid. I don’t think a right-thinking person from the North will support him in 2027”, Lamiɗo further said.
He further stressed that Nigeria could only be rescued if citizens unite across political, religious, and regional divides, adding that the PDP remains the only credible alternative capable of restoring justice, equity, and dignity to the country.
Lamiɗo, a veteran politician active since the PRP struggles of the 1970s, urged PDP members to remain disciplined and united, insisting that the party can reclaim Nigeria’s future from what he described as APC’s arrogance of power and failed governance.
